Aamir Niazi
Aamir Niazi has thirty-eight years of global leadership experience built on delivering, sustaining, and enhancing strategic business results.
His roles have ranged from Independent Non-Executive Director of Lucky Textile (LTM), Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Descon OxyChem and Descon Chemicals, and COO of International Textile. Internationally, he has held senior leadership roles with FMC Corporation in the U.S. and the British Oxygen Group in the U.K.; roles in which he worked with capital goods, industrial gases, textiles, chemicals and petrochemicals. Aamir has also led the corporate governance teams for Asia-Pacific, which included fifteen countries.
For six successive years, he has been selected as one of the Top 100 CEOs and business leaders in Pakistan. He is a member of the Board of Governors at the Pakistan Society for Training & Development, where he was President between 2013-16. He has served as a Co-Chair for the Border Facilitation of the Pakistan-India Joint Business Forum, recognized by both countries for its significant contributions.
He is an advocate for women’s rights, gender diversity, and inclusion. He was the Chairperson for the International Advisory Board for Women in 2017-18 and chairs the Advisory Council of Pakistan’s Women’s Entrepreneurs Network. He publishes extensively on economic, industrial and foreign policy matters.
Aamir is a graduate of Aitchison College, where he was a valedictorian, Rivaz gold medalist, skipper of the cricket team and its head boy. He went to the U.S. for his undergraduate and graduate education from the prestigious Cox School of Business at the Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas. He graduated number one in his MBA class, Summa Cum Laude, winning the coveted SEDCO prize. It was the first time for an international student to have topped the university, since 1911.
